The core of CRUSE Profile Scan is our proven scanner profiling method using the Cruse Professional Profile.
In the new version of CRUSE Design Studio, CRUSE offers a new software module called CRUSE Profile Scan, which allows fast and easy printer profiling. The profile scan can be used with almost all existing CRUSE scanners, including the new medium-sized series.
Optimized for maximum color fidelity, our sensor can measure optical and chromatic abberations even in the smallest scale. Compared to standard spectral photometers, our scanners can capture at a much higher speed and allow measuring of color charts within seconds.
At the same time, CRUSE scanners have an exceptionally large color gamut (see illustration), which completely covers the color gamut of printing devices like inkjet printers. Simply, the scanner color gamut is limited, but clearly large enough for printers.
Using spectral photometers for profiling, the number of color patches is usually limited for practical and efficiency reasons. Profiling with CRUSE scanners is basically unlimited in the number of patches. Since a higher number of color patches significantly contributes to the quality of the profile, this method overcompensates the limited scanner color gamut in typical applications.
Targets and Profiles at the Touch of a Button
With Profile Scan, you can easily create and manage profiling targets and printer profiles. The size of the targets can be adapted to your needs. The sizes can significantly exceed the standard chart sizes such as A4 or even A3. Since the measurements are fast, profiling targets with 10,000 or more color patches are feasible. Each CRUSE Profile target is registered and labelled with a machine-readable QR code. This code is automatically recognized by CRUSE Profile scans.
With one click, a target is scanned and identified, and profile creation starts immediately. The integrated target and profile management keeps track of all profiling targets, printers, and profiles.
